The Society extends its congratulations to the Harris Family of Meadow Vale Shorthorns of Clarkefield Victoria, Jason Tetley, Redrock Corporation, Wayo, NSW and Rutherglen High School, Victoria (bred by Spencer Family Shorthorns) on their win in the Borthwick Trophy run by the Beef Cattle Committee of the RASV.

Rutherglen High School sired by Southcote Maximum Impact and Redrock Corporation sired by Bayview Unique K11 (all exhibited in class led heavy domestic 400.1 to 500kg). The Australian Shorthorn team had a grand total score of 350.75 (combined tally hoof and hook), with the Angus in second (346.14) the Red Angus in third (342.54) followed by the Limousin, Shorthorn, Hereford, Simmental, Speckle Park and Murray Grey.
The Melbourne Royal Beef carcase competition provides studs, commercial producers, agricultural schools and colleges with the opportunity to network and benchmark the quality of their livestock.
